There are multiple ways to delete an IIS resource hierarchy. The Delete Resource Hierarchy screen can be accessed using any of the following methods:
- Click the Operations button on the Resource Tree screen and select Delete Resource Hierarchy from the dropdown list.
- Right-click the IIS resource you want to delete in the resource tree and select Delete Resource Hierarchy from the context menu.
Deleting the IIS resource hierarchy is performed in the following order:
- Select the Target Server from the Server dropdown list. This is the node from which the IIS resource hierarchy will be deleted.
- Select the IIS resource hierarchy to be deleted from the Resource Hierarchy dropdown list. Important: Deleting an IIS resource hierarchy without first taking the IIS resource out of service on all nodes may cause system resources to become unavailable. To prevent this, ensure that the IIS resource is taken out of service on all nodes before deleting the IIS resource hierarchy.
- Click Confirm to proceed with the deletion.
- A screen appears confirming the selected target server and the IIS resource hierarchy selected for deletion. Click Delete to remove the IIS resource from LifeKeeper for Windows protection.
- The IIS resource hierarchy is deleted and the IIS resource and its dependencies are removed from LifeKeeper for Windows protection. The execution log and results are displayed on the screen. Click Close to complete the deletion process.
