Oracle PDB Hierarchy Deletion Fails

Description

During deletion of an Oracle PDB resource, LifeKeeper error dialog 23204 can be displayed if the properties panel is open. This is due to a race condition between the LifeKeeper properties panel update cycle and the delete action. If the properties panel updates in-between when the Oracle PDB resource removes its dependencies and when it is deleted, the error dialog will be displayed.

An error event number with id 23204 can also be logged to the Windows Application Event Log without the LifeKeeper error dialog appearing. This will happen if an Oracle PDB resource without dependencies is actively selected with the Properties panel open.

An error event with id 23204 can also be logged without the Properties Panel being open in LifeKeeper. In this case, the Oracle PDB resource’s dependencies are removed. Right-click the Oracle PDB in the Hierarchies panel on the left side of the LifeKeeper GUI and select “Delete Resource Hierarchy”. The Oracle PDB is not deleted. The error number 23204 is logged to the Windows Application Event logs.

Suggested Actions

Close the LifeKeeper GUI Properties Panel before performing any action that removes all of a PDB resource’s dependencies.

For Oracle PDB resources without dependencies, click the Oracle PDB resource’s active tile and delete the Oracle PDB using the main menu option or context menu.
