Suggestion

Check the following:

  • All volumes and communications resources (IP and/or LAN Manager) associated with the SID should already be under LifeKeeper protection.
  • All the shared or replicated volumes are available to the primary server and all volumes are mapped to the same drive letters on each server.
  • If the following error occurs, it is because the IP resource is a dependent child resource of the DNS resource or the Route53 resource, etc. Remove these dependencies before creating the Oracle resource.
    • Fatal Error: A required IP address - <IP Address> - for this Oracle instance is protected by LifeKeeper, but is already a dependency in another LifeKeeper hierarchy. This configuration is not allowed in an Oracle hierarchy.
