The procedure for creating a JP1/AJS Resource Hierarchy with LKWMC is as follows:

  1. Select Resource > Resource Tree from the left pane menu to display the Resource Tree screen.
  2. Select Create Resource Hierarchy from the Operations dropdown at the top of the screen to display the Create Resource Hierarchy dialog.
  3. Navigate through the pages ① [Select Server and Recovery Kit] > ② [Required Settings] > ③ [Advanced Settings (Optional)] > ④ [Confirm] > ⑤ [Result], enter the parameters, and proceed with creating the resources. The descriptions of the input items on each page are as follows.

When creating a JP1/Base Resource

① [Select Server and Recovery Kit]

Item Description
Server Select the server on which to launch JP1 software (typically referred to as Primary Server). All servers in the cluster will appear in the dropdown list.
Application Recovery Kit The dropdown displays all installed Recovery Kits.
To create JP1/AJS resources, select “JP1/AJS”.

② [Required Settings]

Item Description
JP1 Component Select the JP1 product to be protected by the resource you are creating from the following options.
  • JP1/Base
  • JP1/AJS3-Manager
  • JP1/AJS3-Agent
The items displayed hereafter will change depending on your selection. Select “JP1/Base”.
Logical Hostname When you select JP1/Base for JP1 Component, it will appear in the dropdown.
Select the logical host you want to associate.
The options displayed are extracted from the JP1/Base configuration file and list only logical hosts not yet protected by JP1/Base resources.

③ [Advanced Settings (Optional)]

Item Description
JP1/AJS Resource Tag Enter the resource tag name. By default, the following value is automatically entered in this field.
  • <JP1 Component>-<Logical Host name>
Please change this tag name as needed.
Switchback Type Specify the mode for restoring the JP1/AJS resource hierarchy to this server when it returns to service following a failover to the standby server.
You can select either INTELLIGENT or AUTOMATIC.
For details, see Intelligent Versus Automatic Switchback .
IP Address Resource The IP Address resource protecting the IP address associated with the logical host is initially selected. Select the IP Address resource associated with the logical host.
When the IP Address resource is selected, a dependency is created with the JP1/Base resource.
If you select “None”, no dependencies will be created. Select “None” if you do not need to protect the IP Address with LifeKeeper Single Server Protection.
Volume Resource The Volume Resource protecting the shared file associated with the logical host is initially selected. Select the Volume Resource you wish to associate.
When selecting the Volume Resource, dependencies are created after the JP1/Base resource is created.
If you select “None”, no dependencies will be created. Select “None” if you do not need to protect the Volume with LifeKeeper Single Server Protection.

④ [Confirm]

The information entered or selected on the ① [Select Server and Recovery Kit], ② [Required Settings], and ③ [Advanced Settings (Optional)] pages will be displayed.
You cannot modify this information.

⑤ [Result]

The creation of the resource hierarchy will begin, and the progress and results of the creation process will be output.



When creating a JP1/AJS3-Manager Resource, JP1/AJS3-Agent Resource

① [Select Server and Recovery Kit]

Item Description
Server Select the server on which to launch JP1 software (typically referred to as Primary Server). All servers in the cluster will appear in the dropdown list.
Application Recovery Kit The dropdown displays all installed Recovery Kits.
To create JP1/AJS resources, select “JP1/AJS”.

② [Required Settings]

Item Description
JP1 Component Select the JP1 product to be protected by the resource you are creating from the following options.
  • JP1/Base
  • JP1/AJS3-Manager
  • JP1/AJS3-Agent

JP1/Base Resource When you select JP1/AJS3-Manager or JP1/AJS3-Agent in JP1 Component, this appears in a dropdown.
Select the JP1/Base Resource on which the new JP1/AJS3-Manager or JP1/AJS3-Agent Resource will depend.
Only JP1/Base Resources with an ISP status and no existing dependencies are displayed as candidates.
Logical Hostname This appears when JP1/Base Resource is selected. It is for display only and cannot be modified.
The Logical Hostname associated with the selected JP1/Base Resource in JP1/Base Resource is displayed. Verify that the displayed Logical Hostname is correct.

③ [Advanced Settings (Optional)]

Item Description
JP1/AJS Resource Tag Enter the resource tag name. By default, the following value is automatically entered in this field.
  • <JP1 Component>-<Logical Host name>
Please change this tag name as needed.
Switchback Type Specify the mode for restoring the JP1/AJS resource hierarchy to this server when it returns to service following a failover to the standby server.
