Considerations for cloning environment using Sysprep

  • For the template server to be cloned with Sysprep, do not create LifeKeeper for Windows communication paths or resource hierarchies before executing Sysprep. It is not possible to clone an existing cluster environment with already created resource hierarchies using Sysprep.
  • After changing the computer name on the Sysprep-cloned server, restart it before creating communication paths or resource hierarchies for LifeKeeper for Windows.
  • Some Windows configurations, such as network configurations and disk settings for secondary or additional servers, are not retained after executing Sysprep. For detailed information, refer to Microsoft’s official Sysprep documentation.
