This section describes the setup procedure for protecting JP1/AJS with LifeKeeper.
Preparation
You must configure the LifeKeeper cluster and create the following resources for the JP1 logical host to operate.

| Volume Resource | Protects the settings and data storage locations used by the event server. |
| IP Address Resource | Protects the virtual IP address assigned to the JP1 logical host. |
After creation, make it Active on the primary server.
Installing JP1
The components installed for JP1/AJS3 – Manager and JP1/AJS3 – Agent differ. Please refer to the JP1 manual for installation instructions.
Install JP1 on the local disk of both the primary server and the standby server. JP1 must be installed on the same drive and in the same folder on both the primary server and the standby server.
Setting up JP1
A physical host environment and logical host environment must be set up to run JP1 on a LifeKeeper cluster system. Specify a hostname associated with the IP address protected by the IP Address resource for the logical host. Specify that the shared file must be located within a file system protected by a File System resource. Refer to the JP1 manual for detailed procedures. The JP1 Version 13 manuals are as follows:
