Perform the switchover to verify that the HULFT resource hierarchy is executable across all nodes.

Also, perform a pseudo failure on the active node to verify the recovery behavior of the HULFT Recovery Kit.

Recovery Operation

When the active node fails, the Recovery Kit for HULFT software performs the recovery operation.

  • Starts the daemon processes related to HULFT in the active node.

Failover Operations

If an unrecoverable failure occurs in the active node, the Recovery Kit for HULFT initiates a failover.

  • When an IP resource has a dependency relation with the HULFT resource hierarchy, switching the IP address to the backup node will activate the IP address on the network interface and switch HULFT to the backup node.
  • Mounts the file system - if one is being used-on the shared disk on that backup node.
  • Starts the daemon processes related to HULF& in the active node.

Tunable Values

The table below lists and explains the tunable values of the Recovery Kit for HULFT. These values are tuned by editing the /etc/default/LifeKeeper configuration file. Changes to these
particular values become effective immediately after they are changed in /etc/default/LifeKeeper, without requiring a LifeKeeper restart.

Parameter Name Meaning
HULFT_RESTORE_TIMEOUT Timeout for the HULFT resource restore. The default is 60 seconds.
HULFT_REMOVE_TIMEOUT Timeout for the HULFT resource remove. The default is 15 seconds.
HULFT_QUICKCHECK_TIMEOUT Timeout for the HULFT resource quickCheck (monitoring). The default is 15 seconds.
  • The maximum value is 65.
