Before installing and configuring the Recovery Kit, be sure that your configuration meets the following requirements:

Servers

The Recovery Kit requires servers configured in accordance with the LifeKeeper requirements described in the LifeKeeper for Linux Technical Documentation and the LifeKeeper for Linux Release Notes. See the Certification Information for supported Linux distributions.

LifeKeeper for Linux

You must install the same version of LifeKeeper for Linux on each server. Please refer to the LifeKeeper for Linux Technical Documentation and the LifeKeeper for Linux Release Notes for LifeKeeper requirements.

Recovery Kit for IP Address

You must install the Recovery Kit for IP Address on each server.

nfs-utils package

You must install the same version of the nfs-utils package. This Recovery Kit uses the following software:

  • rpcbind
  • rpc.idmapd
  • gssproxy or rpc.svcgssd
  • rpc.nfsd
  • rpc.mountd

/etc/exports config file

In the /etc/exports config file, an NFS client can be specified with an IPv4 address, a hostname, or a wildcard.
An IPv6 address cannot be specified.

Refer to the LifeKeeper for Linux Installation Guide for specific instructions on how to install or remove the Recovery Kit.
