Switchover failure when the SAP HANA administrative user is using a non-default login shell

Symptom:

In a system where the SAP HANA administrative user (i.e., the <sid>adm user) has been configured to use a non-default login shell (such as tcsh/csh), the SAP HANA resource fails to come in-service during a switchover or failover.

Cause:

Some utility calls in the current version of the SAP HANA Recovery Kit are compatible only with BASH.

Action:

Change the default login shell for the <sid>adm user to BASH on all cluster nodes. For example, using the command:

chsh ––shell /bin/bash <sid>adm
