The default procedure used to monitor protected FTP sites is to connect to the site and use an anonymous login. This feature is performed by the LifeKeeper deep check process assigned to monitor each FTP site. If your site does not permit an anonymous login, the default deep check operation will fail. Where anonymous logins are not permitted, enable basic authentication and follow the steps below to set it up.

  1. In LifeKeeper, right-click your IIS resource.
  2. Click “Properties”.
  3. Click “Modify URL”.
  4. Enter ftp://<user>:<password>@<site-ip>.
  5. Click “Modify”.
