LifeKeeper for Linux can be installed and used on the distributions and versions listed on this page.

The following are common considerations and restrictions for all of the operating systems listed here.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (all 64 bits)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Notes
10.0 to 10.1 Partitions with an odd number of sectors are not supported when running kernel 4.12 or later

RHEL 10.1 does not support DataKeeper asynchronous mode due to a kernel issue.

For RHEL 10.1, asynchronous replication with DataKeeper requires kernel-6.12.0-124.55.1.el10_1.x86_64 or later.
9.0 to.9.7 Partitions with an odd number of sectors are not supported when running kernel 4.12 or later

RHEL 9.0 does not support DataKeeper asynchronous mode on disks that are thin provisioned

RHEL 9.7 does not support DataKeeper asynchronous mode due to a kernel issue.

For RHEL RHEL9.7 , asynchronous replication with DataKeeper requires kernel-5.14.0-611.54.1.el9_7.x86_64 or later.
8.0 to 8.10 Partitions with an odd number of sectors are not supported when running kernel 4.12 or later

RHEL 8.6 does not support DataKeeper asynchronous mode on disks that are thin provisioned.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) (all 64 bits)

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Notes
16.0 Partitions with an odd number of sectors are not supported when running kernel 4.12 or later

SUSE live patching is NOT supported.
SLES 16.0 is supported with LifeKeeper for Linux v10.0.2 or later.
15.0 SP6 to SP7 For SLES 15 SP6, asynchronous replication with DataKeeper requires the 5.14.21-150500.55.88.1 or later kernel package to avoid a possible data corruption when updating the kernel package.

For SLES 15 SP7, asynchronous replication with DataKeeper requires 6.4.0-150700.53.25.1.x86_64 or later.

Partitions with an odd number of sectors are not supported when running kernel 4.12 or later

SUSE live patching is NOT supported.

Oracle Linux (all 64 bits)

Oracle Linux 8.6 does not support DataKeeper asynchronous mode on thin-provisioned disks due to a kernel issue.

The minimum supported UEK kernel version is 5.4.17-2102.202.5.

Rocky Linux (all 64 bits)

10.0 to 10.1 LifeKeeper does not currently support Rocky Linux 10.0 on Oracle Cloud. We will evaluate support once the official platform image is released.

Rocky Linux 10.1 does not support DataKeeper asynchronous mode due to a kernel issue.

  • LifeKeeper supports running Amazon Linux 2023 directly on Amazon EC2. Configurations using Amazon Linux 2023 outside of Amazon EC2 are not supported.
  • Amazon Linux 2023 supports all versions with a kernel version up to kernel-6.1. For example, kernel-6.1.90-99.173 and kernel-6.1.91-99.172 are supported.
  • Amazon Linux 2023 is available with Recovery Kit for Apache, DataKeeper, Recovery Kit for MySQL, Recovery Kit for NFS Server, Recovery Kit for PostgreSQL, Recovery Kit for EC2, Recovery Kit for Route53, Recovery Kit for Network Attached Storage, and Recovery Kit for HULFT.
  • Amazon Linux 2023 supports MariaDB for use with Recovery Kit for MySQL. MySQL is not supported.

Ubuntu (all 64 bits)

Ubuntu Notes
24.04 LTS LifeKeeper v10.1.0 supports Ubuntu 24.04 LTS in a limited Technical Preview capacity for evaluation purposes only.
Usage of LifeKeeper v10.1.0 in an Ubuntu production environment is not supported.
Full Ubuntu support will be added in a future release.
