Resource Hierarchy Creation menu may show uninstalled resource types

Symptom: Resource types may continue to appear as choices in the LKWMC “Create Resource Hierarchy” operation after the corresponding recovery kit has been uninstalled.

Solution: Restart LifeKeeper in order to update the list of available resource types.

When creating an SAP resource, you may need to establish a dependency with a file system resource. Follow the steps below to configure this dependency.

Creating a Dependency with an Existing File System Resource

  1. Set the “Automate Creation of SAP-Related File System Resources” option to “Yes”.
  2. From the displayed list of file system resources, select the file system resource that you want to establish a dependency with the SAP resource.
  3. Change the “Automate Creation of SAP-Related File System Resources” option to “No” to finalize the setting.

Creating a Dependency with an Automatically Generated File System Resource

  1. Set the “Automate Creation of SAP-Related File System Resources” option to “Yes”.
  2. Set the “File System Resource Tag(s)” option to “None”, then proceed with the SAP resource creation.

How to Update the Protection Level or Recovery Level for an SAP Resource

To update the Protection Level or Recovery Level in the Edit SAP resource properties, follow the steps below.

  1. Select the Protection Level or Recovery Level you want to update.
  2. Click the “EXECUTE” button.

  1. Select the Protection Level or Recovery Level you want to update.
  2. Set “SAP Maintenance Mode” to “ENABLE”.
  3. Set “Perform cluster-wide update of the SAP Maintenance Mode” to “NO”.
  4. Set “SAP Maintenance Mode” back to “DISABLE”.
  5. Click the “EXECUTE” button.
