1. In the LifeKeeper GUI, click the “Operations” dropdown and select “Create Resource Hierarchy”. In the dialogue box that opens, select the “SAP HANA” Recovery Kit.

  1. Enter the following values to create and extend a LifeKeeper resource (HANA-SPS_HDB01) to protect the HDB01 database instance on node-a and node-b. Note that the resulting resource should not be extended to node-c, the witness node (if quorum/witness functionality is being used). The icon indicates that the default option is chosen.

  1. When ready to proceed with resource creation, click “EXECUTE”. The resource will be created with output in the window as shown below:

  1. After resource creation completes, select “Extend Resource hierarchy” and enter the below details, then click “NEXT”.

  1. On the “Confirm” page, verify the settings entered. When ready to proceed, click “EXECUTE”.

  1. The resource will be extended with output in the window as shown below. When complete, click “CLOSE”

Once the HANA-SPS_HDB01 resource has been successfully created and extended to node-b, the LifeKeeper resource panel should look similar to the following.

SAP HANA database instance HDB01 has now been successfully protected by LifeKeeper.
