Unextending Your DRBD Hierarchy

To unextend a DRBD resource from a single server in the LifeKeeper cluster, complete the following steps.

*Note: The resource can not be unextended for a server where the resource is in-service (active).

1. There are 3 ways to begin:
   1. Right-click on an out of service resource in the right pane on the LifeKeeper GUI and select Unextend Resource Hierarchy beginning with step 2.
   2. Select Edit > Resource > Unextend Resource Hierarchy or right-click on the resource in the left pane on the LifeKeeper GUI and select Unextend Resource Hierarchy.
      1. The Target Server dialog will appear.

Select the name of the server where the DRBD resource exists and is not in-service that you want to unextend. All servers in your cluster are included in the dropdown list box.

Click Next to continue.

ii. The Hierarchy to Unextend dialog will appear if selected from the Edit menu.

Select the name of the root tag on the target server you wish to unextend. All root tags configured on the target server that are not in-service are included in the selection box.

Click Next to continue with step 2.

*Note: When the Back button is active in any of the dialog boxes, you can go back to the previous dialog box. This is helpful should you encounter an error requiring you to correct the previously entered information. You may click Cancel at any time to cancel the entire unextend process.

2. Confirmation information box will appear.
   

Select Unextend to unextend the hierarchy from the selected server.

3. Another information box will appear confirming that the DRBD resource was unextended successfully.
   

Select Done.

*Note: At this point, data is not being replicated to the selected target server.
