Set Resync Speed Limits

Normally, one tries to ensure that background synchronization (which makes the data on the synchronization target temporarily inconsistent) completes as quickly as possible. However, it is also necessary to keep background synchronization from using all bandwidth otherwise available for foreground replication, which would be detrimental to application performance. This requires the synchronization bandwidth to match your hardware. (See the LINBIT DRBD User’s Guide, “Configuring the rate of synchronization”.)

The default synchronization settings LifeKeeper configures for each resource are:

  • c-max-rate: 500M
  • c-min-rate: 20M
  • resync-rate: 166M

The c-max-rate, c-min-rate and resync-rate can be tuned from the GUI when the Set Resync Speed Limits action is selected.

Set the minimum speed limit and click Next.

Set the maximum speed limit and click Next.

Set the starting point DRBD uses for the resync rate and click Set Values.

A dialog box will show each entry being updated.
