Deleting a DRBD Resource Hierarchy

To delete a DRBD resource from all servers in your LifeKeeper configuration, complete the following steps.

*Note: It is recommended that you take the DRBD resource out of service BEFORE deleting it. Otherwise the DRBD resource will remain active and you will have to unmount the file system manually and take “down” the DRBD resource (‘drbdsetup down <res>’ where <res> is the resource name). The resource file in /etc/drbd.d will be removed even though the resource is left active.

1. There are 2 ways to begin:
   1. Right-click on a resource in the right pane on the LifeKeeper GUI and select Delete Resource Hierarchy beginning with step 2.
   2. Select Edit > Resource > Delete Resource Hierarchy or right-click on a resource in the left pane on the LifeKeeper GUI and select Delete Resource Hierarchy.
      1. The Target Server dialog will appear.

Select the name of the server where the DRBD resource exists that you want to delete. All servers in your cluster are included in the dropdown list box.

Click Next to continue.

ii. The Hierarchy to Delete dialog will appear if selected from the Edit menu.

Select the name of the root tag on the target server you wish to delete. All root tags configured on the target server are included in the selection box.

Click Next to continue with step 2.

*Note: When the Back button is active in any of the dialog boxes, you can go back to the previous dialog box. This is helpful should you encounter an error requiring you to correct the previously entered information. You may click Cancel at any time to cancel the entire delete process.

2. The confirmation information box will appear.
   

Select Delete to delete the hierarchy from all servers.

3. Another information box will appear confirming that the DRBD resource was deleted successfully.
   

Select Done.

*Note: If the DRBD device was mounted prior to the resource deletion then it will remain mounted. Otherwise, the DRBD device will also be deleted.
