In most cases, DataKeeper and DRBD are within 1% – 2% of disk performance for both asynchronous and synchronous replication. A synchronous mirror on slower disks may see up to a 10% overhead. On very high performance configurations DataKeeper asynchronous mirrors can see a significant overhead of 40% due to single threading. DRBD will resynchronize faster than DataKeeper.
