Objective

From LifeKeeper for Linux v9.2.2, a configuration in which cluster nodes are located in separate VPCs using a VPC peering connection (“multi-VPC cluster configuration”) is now supported. By using inter-region VPC peering connections, cross-region failover configurations (“multi-region cluster configuration”) can also be used.

This document describes the requirements and basic operations for building multi-VPC cluster configuration with LifeKeeper for Linux for v9.5.0.

The Recovery Kit for EC2™ assumes that all cluster nodes are located in a single VPC and cannot be used in a multi-VPC cluster configuration. Use the Recovery Kit for Route 53™ as shown in the figure above to switch the connection from the client.

Please note that this document does not describe the basic settings, operations, and technical details of LifeKeeper and AWS. For terms, operations and technical information related to LifeKeeper and AWS, that are the prerequisites of this configuration, please read related documents and user websites beforehand.
