Some Recovery Kits use AWS Instance Metadata Service (IMDS) to retrieve instance metadata. You can use AWS IMDS version 1 or 2. However, if you change the configuration on AWS, you may also need to change the configuration on LifeKeeper.
Configuring Amazon EC2 IMDS
Refer to the AWS document below:
Modify instance metadata options for existing instances
Configuring LifeKeeper for Linux
Set the value following the table below according to the version of IMDS to be used in /etc/default/LifeKeeper. For details on the parameters, refer to the EC2 Parameter List.
/etc/default/LifeKeeper | Note |
---|---|
AWS_IMDS_VERSION=1 | Retrieve instance metadata using IMDSv1. (*1) |
AWS_IMDS_VERSION=2 | Retrieve instance metadata using IMDSv2. |
*1 Errors will occur if IMDSv2 is configured in Amazon EC2 IMDS settings as “required”.
