IMPORTANT NOTICE: Patch required to verify proper kernel is installed

We are pleased to announce that we have completed all Engineering (Development and Quality Assurance) related activities to provide support for LifeKeeper v9.6.2 on SLES 15 SP 4. The default kernel and some subsequently distributed kernels will not work properly with LifeKeeper. LifeKeeper requires 5.14.21-150400.24.21.2 or higher.

LifeKeeper v9.6.2 with a patch is required to install LifeKeeper on SLES 15 SP 4. The patch files are located at: http://ftp.us.sios.com/pickup/sles15sp4-PL-16270-9.6.2. Please see the readme for the required steps to install LifeKeeper v9.6.2 on SLES 15 SP 4 or to upgrade SLES 15 SP 3 with LifeKeeper to SLES 15 SP 4 with LifeKeeper v9.6.2.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please read carefully as there are separate (and different) steps required for new installations of SLES 15 SP4 and upgrades from SP3 to SP4. Please follow the appropriate steps for your scenario.

It is important that LifeKeeper is stopped when doing the upgrade to SLES 15 SP 4.

You will have to run ‘setup —addinfo lk-sles15sp4-support’ after SLES is upgraded to SP4, per the instructions in the readme. Running ‘setup—addinfo lk-sles15sp4-support ‘ will verify that you have the correct kernel. If ‘setup’ says the wrong kernel is installed, you should NOT start Lifekeeper until that is resolved and ‘setup —addinfo lk-sles15sp4-support’ completes without error.

If you have additional questions or would like assistance applying the patch, please contact your SIOS Sales Representative or SIOS Technical Support.

We are committed to providing you with the highest quality of products and services and we are always available to answer any questions you may have.
