Disable SELinux

Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) is a Linux kernel security module that provides a mechanism for supporting access control security policies, including mandatory access controls (MAC).

*You will need to disable it in order to use SIOS Protection Suite for Linux.

Steps to Disable SELinux

1. Check sestatus.

2. Set enforce to 0.

3. Confirm current value specified at /etc/selinux/config.

4. In step 3, SELinux is set to enforcing. Replace the value with disabled.

5. Confirm the change.

6. Restart the machine.

7. After the restart, check the status again.

!In the latest SPS-Linux versions “permissive“ mode is now supported. The installer will still warn if set to permissive but we can safely continue.
