Internet Explorer

The most secure method for using Internet Explorer is to add the LifeKeeper server to the Trusted Sites zone as follows:

  1. From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  1. Click the Security tab.
  1. Select Trusted Sites zone and click Custom Level.
  1. Under Reset custom settings, select Medium/Low, then click Reset.
  1. Click Sites.
  1. Enter the server name and port number for the LifeKeeper server(s) to which you wish to connect (for instance: http://server1:81).

An alternative, but possibly less secure method, is to do the following:

  1. From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  1. Select either Internet or Local Intranet (depending upon whether your remote system and the LifeKeeper cluster are on the same intranet).
  1. Adjust the Security Level bar to Medium (for Internet) or Medium-low (for Local Intranet). These are the default settings for each zone.
  1. Click OK.
