Before creating a QSP resource for a Windows service, make sure that the service is running on the primary LifeKeeper system.

During resource creation specify the following:

  1. Service Name: Choose the service from the list of running services.
  2. Quickchk Interval: Enter a value for the Quickchk interval as described in QSP Resource Properties.
  3. Startup Interval: Enter a value for Startup Interval as described in QSP Resource Properties. The default is 0 which allows the service as much time as it needs to start.
  4. Shutdown Interval: Enter a value for the Shutdown Interval as described in QSP Resource Properties. The default is 0 which allows the service as much time as it needs to stop.
  5. Local Recovery: Choose whether local recovery will be attempted.
