There are two configuration requirements that must be met in order to integrate SIOS iQ with a SQL Sentry instance.
Configure the SQL Sentry server to allow remote connections
To allow SIOS iQ to retrieve issues from SQL Sentry the following steps must be performed on the SQL Sentry server:
- Configure the SQL Server database instance that contains the SQL Sentry database to allow remote connections over TCP/IP. This can be done via the SQL Server Administrator tool.
- Configure the Windows firewall to allow remote connections with the port from the previous step (usually TCP port 1433). This can be opened only for the SIOS iQ appliance for more security if needed.
Please see your SQL Server administrator for more details on making this change.
Configure a SQL Sentry Data Adapter for your SIOS iQ Environment
In order for SIOS iQ issues to be correlated to SQL Sentry issues, the SIOS iQ Environment must be configured with a SQL Sentry adapter. This can be done either during or after Environment creation.
For information on how to configure the SQL Sentry Data Adapter, please refer to Environments.
