Overview

The Oversized VMs Dashboard (Not Available in SIOS iQ free edition) shows VMs that have consistently underutilized available resources (according to configurable usage parameters) and should be evaluated for the opportunity to reclaim resources as recommended by SIOS iQ.

The Dashboard is presented as a report with the capability to be filtered on time frame (Last 24 Hours, Last 7 Days, and Last 30 Days). Values for each VM listed on the dashboard are averages and maximums over the time frame selected.

The Oversized VMs Dashboard contains one table, with the following columns:

  • Virtual Machine – The name of the VM which is oversized.
  • Potential Monthly Savings – The amount of money that can be saved monthly without purchasing additional resources (where appropriate).
  • Avg. vCPU Usage % – The average of all vCPU Usage measurements in the time frame selected.
  • Max. vCPU Usage % – The maximum vCPU Usage measured during the time frame selected.
  • Current Total vCPU – The total number of vCPUs currently allocated to the VM.
  • Recommended Total vCPU – The total number of vCPUs SIOS iQ recommends should be allocated to the VM.
  • Avg. vMem Usage % – The average of all vMem Usage measurements in the time frame selected.
  • Max vMem Usage % – The maximum vMem Usage measured during the time frame selected.
  • Current Total GB vMem – The total vRAM currently allocated to the VM, measured in GB.
  • Recommended Total GB vMem – The total vRAM SIOS iQ recommends should be allocated to the VM, measured in GB.
