Efficiency – Efficiency represents resources across compute (CPU, memory), storage, and network that may be provisioned or reserved, but not utilized.
Environment – An Environment is a reference to a vCenter server and its associated resources that will be managed and reported on by the application.
Event (Infrastructure) – External events (such as VM Migrations) that take place in the infrastructure and are observed by SIOS iQ and incorporated into analysis
Event (System) – SIOS iQ level events/messages (such as Settings changes, Licensing issues, etc.) that are reported to the user via the Event Log
Issue (PERC Issue) – An issue (Performance, Efficiency, Reliability, and Capacity) reported by SIOS iQ resulting from a variety of analytics techniques applied to the provided environment(s) and corresponding data.
Meta Analysis – The SIOS iQ Performance Meta Analysis feature adds Deep Learning to strengthen its Performance Root Cause Analysis. Deep Learning in SIOS iQ helps identify the root causes of the performance problems across very large dataset (behaviors, topologies, anomalies and patterns over time) events in very dynamic virtualization and cloud environments.
Oversized VMs – The Oversized VMs Dashboard shows VMs that have consistently underutilized available resources (according to configurable usage parameters) and should be evaluated for the opportunity to reclaim resources as recommended by SIOS iQ.
PERC – Performance, Efficiency, Reliability, and Capacity
Performance Optimization – This includes features that help maintain predictable performance and service levels. It also helps improve the performance of the environment and helps diagnose and mitigate anomalies or other problems impacting workload performance. The specific feature under Performance Optimization is “Performance Root Cause Analysis”.
Resource Optimization – This includes features that increase utilization rates of hardware, decrease the amount of waste in the environment, and optimize the use of compute, storage, and network components. This provides the user with the information needed to help make intelligent forecast and planning decisions.
Rogue VM Instances – A rogue virtual machine instance occurs when the virtual disk files for a virtual machine are found on a datastore without a known virtual machine in the virtual environment. Rogue VM Instances indicate that one or more “rogue” virtual machines were found.
SIOS PERC Topology – The SIOS PERC Topology is an innovative dashboard that breaks new ground in the visualization of infrastructure operations. The dashboard renders complex infrastructure behaviors in a clear, condensed form that enables users to readily comprehend the overall health of their environments and clusters.
Storage Acceleration Dashboard – The Storage Acceleration Dashboard provides the ability to improve performance, makes the performance more predictable, offloads network traffic and network attached storage, and improves the density of virtualization environments.
Undersized VMs – The Undersized VMs Dashboard shows VMs that have repeatedly high utilization for either vCPU or vRAM (or both), and should be evaluated to provide additional resources recommended by SIOS iQ to avoid potential impact on the application.
